Composing a Great Drawing or Painting – 4-week Fall Mini Session

 

 

 

Supplies

 

 

For working in pastel:

 

-        4  sheets medium grey 19” x 25” pastel/charcoal paper (Canson Mi-Tientes or similar brand)

-        ViewCatcher *

-        your current supply of pastels that you’ve used in a previous class

-        small pad of inexpensive tracing paper (9” x 12” or similar size)

-        large pad of inexpensive tracing paper (just to cover your finished work)

-        vine charcoal

-        charcoal pencil or soft lead graphite pencil

-        drafting tape

-        kneaded eraser

-        foam board or gator board (20” x 30”), or large drawing board

-        optional: proportion scale

 

 

For working in charcoal:

 

-        4  sheets medium grey 19” x 25” pastel/charcoal paper (Canson Mi-Tientes or similar brand)

-        ViewCatcher *

-        small pad of inexpensive tracing paper (9” x 12” or similar size)

-        large pad of inexpensive tracing paper (just to cover your finished work)

-        charcoal pencil or soft lead graphite pencil

-        vine charcoal

-        compressed charcoal

-        white NuPastel

-        white Rembrandt pastel

-        kneaded eraser

-        drafting tape

-        large drawing board; or foam board or gator board (20” x 30”)

-        optional: proportion scale

 

 

*The ViewCatcher is available at Binders Art Supply (Buckhead) near the color wheels and proportion scales.  If you’re not able to find this product, I’ll have something else you can use.  It’s not as good, but it’ll work.
